Lola was bred to Conner in April and we look forward to a mid-June litter.
Ch. Lairdoglen The Highlander was bred by Laura Weber of Lairdoglen Skye Terriers and is owned by Priscilla Zeller. Priscilla has been involved with Skyes for over 30 years and she also has Newfoundlands.
Conner was the first Skye I fell in love with when I was considering a Skye. His joyful attitude and zest for life drew me
in. He took to me right away, and in a way, said, "hey, I like you, I think you would be a good Skye owner!"
Conner's long show career is full of accomplishments including multiple group placements. At a recent National Specialty he
was awarded Best Veteran. Here are the comments from the judging critique--written by Betty Anne Stenmark:
"First in Veteran Dog, in a strong class of three, was the almost nine year old Ch. Lairdoglen the Highlander, whom I see
was sired by my Breed winner in 1994, Ch. Finnsky Oliver and out of a beautiful bitch I remember well, Ch. Roblyn a Chorus
Line, TDX. He was also Best Veteran in Specialty. That was fun for me to see him. He is holding his age very well and if
I were breeding Skyes I would see if I could incorporate this dog into my breeding program. Typey dogs who hold their age
that well are useful breeding stock."
Priscilla began her involvement in Skyes because of her 14 year old son Andreas. They were at a dog show
and Dres wandered over to the terrier ring and introduced himself to Annie Boucher. She agreed to teach him about Skyes, but asked for his mother's approval first. Both Priscilla and Dres have
been great friends and supporters of me and our breed.
Conner is a strong dog with nice proportions, graceful neck and purposeful reach and drive. Two of his litter mates were
National Specialty Winners, Ch. Lairdoglen Braveheart, and Ch. Lairdoglen Renaisance Man, NA, NAJ.
